VinFast Makes Landmark India Debut with Premium Electric SUVs VF 6 and VF 7
Vietnamese automaker VinFast has officially entered the Indian market with the launch of its first locally manufactured premium electric SUVs — the sleek VF 6 and the sporty VF 7. The debut marks a significant step in India’s fast-growing EV landscape and highlights VinFast’s commitment to supporting the country’s green mobility transition.
Unveiled by Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, and Chief Engineer Vincent John Pendlebury, the VF 6 is priced from ₹16.49 lakh, while the VF 7 starts at ₹20.89 lakh (introductory price). Both models are assembled at the company’s state-of-the-art Thoothukudi facility in Tamil Nadu, reinforcing India’s role as a global EV manufacturing hub.
“Today marks a historic milestone – the launch of cars made in India, by Indians, for Indians,” said Mr. Chau. “The VF 6 and VF 7 bring together practical design, premium quality, and cutting-edge technology, thoughtfully designed for Indian families.”

VF 6: A compact electric SUV with a 59.6 kWh battery, ARAI-certified range of up to 468 km, and advanced features such as multiple drive modes, panoramic glass roof (Infinity variant), 12.9-inch infotainment, Level 2 ADAS, and fast charging (10–70% in 25 minutes).

VF 7: A larger SUV exceeding 4.5 meters in length, with battery options up to 70.8 kWh, range of 532 km, AWD capability in higher trims, premium vegan leather interiors, ventilated seats, advanced driver monitoring, and a panoramic roof in Infinity variants.
Ecosystem & Expansion
To ensure a seamless ownership experience, VinFast has partnered with RoadGrid, myTVS, Global Assure, and BatX Energies for charging, after-sales, and battery recycling. The company plans to establish 35 dealer touchpoints and 26 workshops across 27 cities by the end of 2025, covering metros and emerging EV hubs.
